Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
You can browse the Open Regional Electricity Observatory (OREO) and download open datasets without providing any personal information. We only collect what you enter in our forms:
- Dataset access requests: your name, email address, organization, the purpose of use you describe, and the dataset you are requesting.
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message.
2. How We Use and Store Information
We use form submissions only to review and respond to your request or message. Submissions are stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare and forwarded by email to the Power Transformation Lab through our email provider, Resend. Data requests are also recorded in the lab's internal workspace on Grist, which only lab members can access. We keep submissions only as long as needed to handle and keep a record of the request. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Spam Protection, Cookies and Analytics
Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical information such as your IP address and browser characteristics to distinguish people from automated bots. The website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures aggregate page views without cookies and without tracking individual visitors across sites. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
4. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. As an open-access platform, we prioritize the integrity of our systems and the security of any user communications.
5. Your Rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you submitted. To do so, or for any privacy-related question, please reach us through our Contact page.
6. Policy Updates
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations. All updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
