About Our Initiative
OREO is a collaborative research initiative dedicated to providing transparent and accessible power system data built on public use sources curated and validated from the ground-up. Our mission is to enable researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals to make data-driven decisions that advance sustainable energy futures.
What Data Do We Offer?
Our repository spans five core categories covering the full power system value chain.
Featured Datasets
China Mainland Interprovincial Transmission Network (500 kV and 750 kV)
This dataset contains curated records of interprovincial AC 500 kV and 750 kV transmission lines in Mainland China that are in operation or under construction. The CSV file aggregates individual lines into province-to-province links and includes voltage levels, estimated transfer capacities, and circuits. It does not include coordinates or detailed geometries for transmission lines, towers, or substations. This database is compiled and validated using a large volume of publicly available online sources. Additionally, OpenStreetMap serves as an important source for cross-validating part of the data. See Methodology for details. Note: This page covers 500 kV and 750 kV lines only. For the complete interprovincial transmission network across all voltage levels (aggregated to provincial nodes), see China > Transmission > China Mainland Interprovincial Transmission Network (500 kV and Above).
Indonesia Provincial Annual Electricity Consumption
This dataset contains annual provincial electricity consumption in Indonesia by year, expressed in GWh. The data is collected from 2021 and 2025 versions of Rencana Usaha Penyediaan Tenaga Listrik (RUPTL) prepared by Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).
